Why did you choose work in advertising?
As a kid, I always loved to create anything -- from a simple drawing to woodworking. As a teen, I tried to figure out how to make a career out of what I loved to do. Instead of becoming a starving fine artist, I chose a career path in advertising.
Share two things people may be surprised to know about you.
I have two chickens roaming my yard. My daughter loves animals and wants to own a farm when she grows up. We got the chickens for her birthday and she loves them dearly. Nothing is better than fresh eggs every day, too!
People may also be surprised to know that I am completely deaf in my right ear. It has never held me back, but if you say something and I don’t answer, I’m not ignoring you – I just didn’t hear you.
What do you do in your spare time?
Other than spending quality time with my wife and two children, I love to do CrossFit! I compete with myself and strive to do better than I did the day before. It’s my release… if I miss too many days I tend to get cranky and my wife will tell me to go to CrossFit.
What’s your favorite thing about advertising?
The world of advertising, media, the Internet, and technology is changing so fast and it’s interesting and creatively challenging to be part of it. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment I get when I create unique concepts and designs that fulfill the client’s needs.
What type of movie or TV show do you like to watch?
If there isn’t a sports game on, I like to watch comedies or a show that will broaden my knowledge about anything from stain removing tricks to history and technology. I don’t like to watch dramas because I feel that there’s already too much tension and negativity in the world.
